HFHMGC is Changing the Face of the Community!

2009 saw the completion of our first development, Thrivent Lane, a twenty-eight house neighborhood in Long Beach, MS. Additionally, our second subdivision in Gulfport, MS, known as Connor’s Garden, made great progress this past year. The development, which will eventually host forty homes, currently has the first twenty-eight completed, with a handful more underway.

The start of the new decade brings some exciting new developments for HFHMGC.

As we continue our work to provide sustainable housing solutions for the Mississippi Gulf Coast, HFHMGC has begun working to transform a handful of Mississippi Cottages from a temporary structure into a permanent housing solution. Several cottages in the Pascagoula area are being renovated, placing them on foundations and doubling their size. All cottages are being built to the local residential building codes.

An exciting new golf event is on the horizon for HFHMGC. The PGA Champions Tour recently announced the addition of a new tournament, the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic, which will be held April 26 – May 2, 2010. The tournament will feature Champion’s Tour favorites, such as Hal Sutton, Loren Roberts and Fuzzy Zoeller and will be broadcast on the Golf Channel, reaching approximately 81.5 million US households. HFHMGC is the charitable beneficiary of the event.
